Bangladesh is ready to welcome the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, but the government is also taking proactive steps to prevent its misuse, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stated during a meeting with Archbishop Kevin S. Randall, the Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See to Bangladesh, at her official residence Ganabhaban on Sunday.
“We welcome AI, but we have to take some protective measures by enacting laws to prevent its misuses,” the premier told the visiting envoy, as briefed by her speech writer M. Nazrul Islam after the meeting.
As the world rapidly embraces AI and its potential to revolutionize various sectors, concerns have been raised about the technology’s ethical implications and the need for proper regulation.
