A team of 16 talented Bangladeshi students, selected to represent their country at the upcoming 25th International Robot Olympiad (IRO) in Athens, Greece, are ready to amaze the world with their robotics skills.
The Bangladesh squad boasts whiz kids from schools across the country, their names announced at a press meet on January 13th. The team includes Jaima Jahin Wara from William Carey Academy, Mahrooz Mohammad Ayman from Navy Anchorage School, Nasheetat Zainah Rahman and Fatin Al Habib Nafis from Mastermind English Medium School along with Prapa Halder (Bir Shrestha Munsi Abdur Rauf Public College), Marzia Afifa Prithibi (South Point School) and Samia Mehnaz from Vikarunnisa Noon School.
The team also has Maisha Sobhan, Sadia Akhtar Swarna, Misbah Uddin Inan (Chittagong Cantonment Public College), Mashkur Malik Mostafa (Notre Dame College), Mahir Tajwar Chowdhury (Mirzapur Cadet College), An Nafiu, Rubaiyat H Rahman (both Dhaka Residential Model College) and Namia Roujat Nubala and Khandkar Shamil Mahadi Bin Khalid (Hardco International School).
Educationist Professor Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, while introducing the brilliant students, expressed hope they will elevate Bangladesh’s flag higher in the global robotics arena at Athens.
Slated from January 16th-20th, the International Robot Olympiad celebrates young robotic minds driving innovation and creative solutions. Bangladesh has participated since 2018 in this global talent-spotting robotics competition organized by the Bangladesh Robot Olympiad under the ICT Ministry’s patronage.
As the tech prodigies pack their bots for Athens, the entire nation awaits how they will wow the world at the 25th International Robot Olympiad 2024.
